Planning permission has been sort for a new supermarket on land just to the east of Peterborough One Retail Park. The multi-million-pound store will cover approximately 1,300 feet and create up to 50 additional jobs. See the planning application here.
This will be the fifth store Aldi has in the city with stores already at:
- Bretton
- Hampton
- Stanground
A further store on Maskew Avenue already has planning permission. Standard opening times of Aldi stores are:
- Mon 08:00 – 22:00
- Tue 08:00 – 22:00
- Wed 08:00 – 22:00
- Thu 08:00 – 22:00
- Fri 08:00 – 22:00
- Sat 08:00 – 22:00
- Sun 10:00 – 16:00
The store should lead to an increase in footfall at the park following Dunelm’s announcement that the last remaining Kiddicare store at the park and the Kiddicare.com website will be closed early in 2019. Read more at here. A sad end to what was once a thriving business.
